The Positive and Negative Thread - Man United
|
Positives
People finally stop blowing smoke up the owners arse over hardly spending anything net
I had Lukaku as captain on Fantasy Football.
Negatives
We weren't very good
People will start blowing that smoke again once Carvalho signs but we still lake consistent creativity.

Woody. So he was on the pitch and wasn't overawed. Right. So he passed the ball. Right ok.
He did not do what a defensive midfielder should be doing. Breaking up play and covering the back 4. As United continuously went past him like he wasn't there and straight into the back 4. So, the only thing I can see is that he is 'one of our own' crap. I'm not saying he won't become a decent player but FFS he did nothing of note on Sunday he was slightly less shit than some of the others. Thats all he did

Positive Got to see our new heroes in action We got shown up a team early on that's probably going to win the league. We've recovered well on the back of previous humiliations
Negative No reason for a 3,000 strong chorus of La Chicharito. We'll get tonked again in the not too distant future, because we are incapable of establishing and maintaining a steely resolve. Eight hours driving on a Sunday and then a plane to the States first thing next day, I'm knackered

Boleyn, you know fuck all about football if you didnt think Rice had a good game, in fact he has barely had a mention in how well he handled it, he was always showing for the ball, passing was very good and tried a few pass and moves trying to drive forward and was not overawed at all.
Positives- Rice, Hernandez
Negatives-caved in too easily and back 4 don't communicate

Negative - Endless dawdling on the ball, woeful passing, lethargic, devoid of ideas, scoreline flattered us.
Positive - Mint and Tea Tree Shower Gel really does make your balls tingle.

I've never liked you 360 and that post demonstrates why
No one was touting Howe as a West Ham manager.
Although I agree with the gist of your post.

Re: The Positive and Negative Thread - Man United

The problem with Eddie Howe comparisons is that he has built the team, the staff around him over time to his own liking. He also did it under zero scrutiny and zero expectations.
That is way different to being parachuted into another club with a different culture and lots of expectations. Look at Moyes as an example of someone who looks very comfortable in in his own armchair, but is a disaster somewhere else.
Football is as much man management as it is tactics and talent spotting. Managers of big sides have to be able to tell someone who is on 200k a week what to do and they listen. I think of all management tasks in the world sports management is probably the actual hardest thing to do, because there isnt really a stick, just carrots.
So Howe may work, but might equally bomb out. There is no way of knowing. Beneitz for example, has a pedigree for doing the parachute thing so its far more of a good bet than Howe would be.

Well surely if Bournemouth had to overspend then "the amount the board spends" was the key point of your post.
Maybe you could have chosen a better example, Huddersfield perhaps?

In the context of complaining that boneheads think it's all about the amount the board spends, which was completely evident from my post, you missed the point.
Fair play.

Yes, I probably could have done, Eddie Howe being a very good manager in my opinion for one factor.
But I thought you were on about spending in particular given your previous line so raised the entirely relevant point about them breaking the rules by over spending. Something we will never be guilty of I am sure.
Apologies you weren't clear in what you were after.

That's the only reason you offered.
You could have named other factors but didn't.

That isn't what I am saying at all, please don't make stuff up.
I answered your question. Maybe you should have phrased it better to get the answer you wanted.

Fair enough, Johnson's identified all we've got to do is breach FFP by 4 million to guarantee success
That is what you're saying

You asked how they got promoted, so I replied with by breaching FFP.
Which was a completely relevant answer I would have thought.

Re: The Positive and Negative Thread - Man United

Correct, they made a 10 million loss, 4 million more than allowed under FFP
mainly due to increased payroll, and bringing the ground up to premier standards
Is any of that relevant?
